About
My research is interdisciplinary and lies at the intersection between physics and population biology or ecology. I work on problems concerning invasions and competition of populations, with the focus on the spread of plant pathogens by wind on continental scales. I am also interested in rare events and large fluctuations in "nonequilibrium systems" - such as driven nanomechanical devices, or biological populations. I conduct projects with undergraduates, and always welcome new interested students - please contact me if you wish to learn more.
