I study the physics of complex and "soft" materials—from liquid crystals to biological systems—using experimental techniques that combine physics, microscopy, and quantitative imaging. As a Professor of Physics at Cal Poly, I enjoy connecting research with teaching through hands-on undergraduate projects and real-world examples that inspire curiosity about the physical world. Beyond the laboratory, my interests in music, multimedia, photography, and outdoor exploration continually shape my approach to science and creativity.
