About

Over the course of my career I have had the privilege to work on or at the following experiments and institutions:

• 8 Experimental Collaborations (EPIC, NIFFTE, ALICE, E907/MIPP, PHENIX, STAR, E895)
• 6 National Labs (Los Alamos, Livermore, Fermilab, Berkeley, Brookhaven, SLAC)
• 2 International Labs/Institutes (CERN in Geneva, Switzerland and Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany)
• 3 Universities (Cal Poly, UC Davis, UCLA)

My research interests span nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics, particle physics, computational physics, and physics education.  I work with students on several projects, funded by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy, to explore nuclear collisions at low and high energy.   Lately I've become more active in advocating for nuclear energy as a low-carbon solution to the climate crisis.
